• Scan rows and columns: Look for a number that appears frequently on the board. Scan the rows and columns to see where that number must go in a specific 3x3 box.
• Look for single candidates: If a cell is surrounded by 8 different numbers in its row, column, and box, there is only one possible number left for that cell!
• Elimination: Keep track of numbers that cannot go in a cell to narrow down your choices.
